"Economics is all about making choices."

Personal Finance is the newest course offered at Collierville High School. It is anticipated that the course will eventually be required for graduation. At the current time it is an elective that provides excellent information about decision-making, career planning, budgeting, credit, and saving. Use the information included here to access a course outline, assignments, and important web-based links.

The Assignments section provides current, previous, and next week activities. Please refer to this section often as changes are likely to be made frequently. This section provides the most current information about the course.

The Course Outline section provides a summary of the topics to be covered during the semester. Also included is a summary of the items that will be required in a portfolio that all students will compile and present during the semester. This portfolio contains evidence of students' understanding and mastery of the primary components of personal financial planning.

The Finance Links section provides access to the many web-based activities that will be used during the semester. Many of these activities will be used within the classroom to provide students with hands-on experience with personal finance. Other links will be used by students after school hours to help develop items for a personal finance portfolio.

The Classroom Rules and Procedures are a good starting point. In it you will find some important information you will need to know as a student in my class. This information is handed out on the first day of school as well.
